Project Description
2- Hour Crystalline Silica Awareness Couse
The course will provide an overview of silica and respirable crystalline silica, covering the basic health hazards and risks associated with exposure. It will also cover topics such as personal protective equipment (PPE), engineering controls, and safe work practices.
The 2-Hour Silica Hazard Awareness Seminar is suitable for individuals who may encounter respirable crystalline silica while engaged in construction activities. Occupational exposure can occur during activities such as cutting, sawing, drilling, and crushing of materials like concrete, brick, ceramic tiles, rock, and stone. It can also occur in industries that process or use large amounts of sand, such as foundries, glass manufacturing, pottery, and concrete product manufacturing.
Furthermore, in accordance with OSHA 1926.1153, effective from September 23, 2017 (with enforcement originally scheduled for June 23, 2017), the training will cover the new permissible exposure limits and specific requirements for exposure controls, competent persons, training, and record-keeping.
