16-Hour SST Supervisor Refresher Bundle (OPTION 2)

Together, the 8-Hour Site Safety Manager Refresher/Chapter 33, 4-Hour Fall prevention, 2-Hour Toolbox Talks, and 2-Hour Pretask meeting Trainings meet the NYC DOB regulations for Site Safety Training (SST) for individuals who have to renew their SST Supervisor card. This registration packages both courses to be taken in two days. In order to continue to operate in the City of New York, the designated construction worker is required to complete a minimum number of hours of approved site safety training and to carry site safety identification cards as proof of completion of the training (As per New York City Local Law 196 of 2017 also known as ‘LL196’ or ‘Local Law’). This course provides sixteen hours towards the satisfaction of that requirement.

8-Hour Site Safety

This course introduces students to the best practices and methods that are essential to maintaining a safe urban construction site. The course works through the Rules of the City of New York regarding public protection and New York City Department of Buildings Chapter 33, as well as current Federal and State regulatory standards and applicable local laws to ensure compliance and safe work practices in construction.
Per DOB’s amendment to Section 104-06 of the Title 1 of the rules of the City of New York, as of 5/25/2017, a Site Safety Manager or Site Safety Coordinator must complete a department approved 8-hour Site Safety Manager Refresher Training Course one year immediately prior to the license or certificate expiration.

4-Hour Fall Prevention

One of the most common causes of construction worker injuries are falls. The teaching faculty at Andromeda Academy is unparalleled in their scaffold expertise. This knowledge is applied to teaching the basic components of fall protection safety. Students will learn how to avoid accidents and injuries during work on scaffolds, roofs, edges, and scaffolds. Students will learn how to install safety gear and fall prevention systems.

2-Hour Toolbox Talk

This course is designed to provide essential safety training and awareness for workers in various industries. Toolbox Talks are short, focused discussions aimed at improving safety practices on the job site by addressing specific topics relevant to current work conditions. Participants will engage in discussions about safety protocols, hazard recognition, and best practices to foster a culture of safety in the workplace.

2-Hour Pretask Meeting

This course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively conduct pre-task meetings on job sites. Pre-task meetings are essential for ensuring that all team members understand the tasks ahead, potential hazards, and safety protocols before commencing work. Participants will learn how to structure and facilitate these meetings, encouraging open communication and collaboration among team members.
